Discord bot
BimmerLink
A Discord bot that connects a Minecraft server to a Discord server: chat both ways, roles kept in step. This site hosts its Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
What BimmerLink does
BimmerLink sits between a Minecraft Paper server and a Discord server, working alongside the EssentialsX Discord and EssentialsX DiscordLink plugins. It does three things, all of them switched on and pointed at particular channels by the server's administrators:
- Relays game chat to Discord. Messages typed in Minecraft appear in the Discord channel the administrators configured for them.
- Relays Discord messages to Minecraft. Messages posted in those same configured channels appear in the game, so players who are not at a computer can still take part.
- Relays server console output to a channel administrators set aside for it, so the server can be watched without an SSH session.
Separately, and only if you ask for it, BimmerLink can link your Discord account to your Minecraft account. Linking is what makes role synchronisation possible: once the two accounts are associated, the right Minecraft permissions and the right Discord roles are applied together, so a promotion in one place shows up in the other. Nothing about your account changes until you start that process yourself.
Chat relayed from Discord is visible to everyone on the Minecraft server, including players who are not in the Discord server — and the other way round. Treat a relayed channel as public to both communities.
What it does not do
BimmerLink exists for community management and communication, and for nothing else. It does not advertise, run analytics, build profiles of anyone, or collect information it has no use for. It does not read direct messages, and it does not read channels it was not configured to relay. It has no interest in you outside the server you share with it.
Questions
Support, privacy requests and anything else go through the Discord server where BimmerLink is installed — ask an administrator there, or the server owner. The Privacy Policy says more about what you can ask for and what happens next.
